Today, Monday 14th November, resolutions were finished and voted by the delegates. In the first instance, the resolutions that the delegates have been preparing since yesterday were presented and submitted. The aim of these resolutions was to contribute on putting an end to health issues regarding Sub-Saharan countries, specifically HIV, malaria and malnutrition.
Today, 13th November, the debate sessions continued in the World Health Organisation. The main topic of discussion has been malaria and how this disease affects Sub-Saharan countries. Prevention was noted as the most effective way to combat this disease, along with testing, educating the population and raising awareness.
This Saturday 12th November the World Health Organisation has officially started debating about the topic that has brought the countries together in these sessions of debate: health problems in Sub-Saharan Africa. Today’s discussions mainly revolved around malnutrition and HIV.
After the opening ceremony, SYMUN 2022 officially starts with each committee’s workshop. In this 5th edition, the World Health Organisation will be discussing the topic “Health problems in Sub-Saharan Africa: HIV, Malaria and malnutrition”. The chairs in charge of this committee this year are Javier León, Paula Rossignoli and Ignacio María González, which explained the rules and general procedure during this workshop.
