The topic A: combating spyware cyberattacks has inaugurated this unexpected first day. A day full of ideas that dissapeared along the debates. Some countries like: France, India, Argentina and Germany, between others, proposed more cybersecurity for citizens. In addition, the implantation of a new education, to show them how to surf through the Internet without being vulnerable to hackers or cyberattacks. On the other hand, countries like Estonia, Mexico and China, with other countries, decided to get more focussed on defending Goberment secret data instead of protecting their citizens.
All this debate developed in a discussion between the protection and privacy of users and violate or erradicate their privacy to discover hacker's identity. Therefore, the intervention of each Government to prevent cyberattacks. A lot of countries like Iran, and Israel have suffered a lot of cyberattacks that never get punished. Spywares between some countries that can provoque more problems. One thing that developed into a small confrontation between China and USA, which went unnoticed but entailed other confrontations that didn’t get clarified.
After some moderated caucus and a chaotic unmoderated caucus, the first two blocks were born. The block made up by Germany, Russia, Spain, China and the rest… wanted to install Internet education for citizens and legislations or penalties for each discovered hacker or cyberattack. The other block, made up by Ira, Mexico, North Korea, etc. Defended the implantation of an Internet education as well, but with much less or any penalties. But this arguments finished contradicting themselves and didn’t reach any conclusion. Anyone reached a clear solution. The blocks get dissolved after all.
To follow today’s session the motion of the debates changed, all the delegates tried to clarify their positions in another moderated caucus. The indecision was in the environment yet. So they decided to change the subject of the motion to reach real conclusions, estable alliances and harder arguments that make sense. This one was about the intervention of big companies like Google, Facebook or Whatsapp to fight against cyberattacks with Gobernment. Some countries were agree with their intervention, because some of them has more power than many countries so they seem a reliable force to work with. Others, were against them, because most of them sell and buy user’s data, so they don’t trust them. Tomorrow it will be known if new alliances are formed and resolutions are finally on the tables.
Even though all this chaos, the ice was broken pretty well today with a collective dance. Also, all the delegates seemed nervous today, so the chairs decided to create punishments although they didn’t do anything. One of them were: the unforgettable and amazing dance of India; some dances between the delegates and the chairs; others sang songs of Taylor Swift; the last countries that joined today to the committee had to dance “Gummy bear”; Sofía, one the chairs, and press had to dance “Gangman Style”. In addition, anyone must not forget about the beautiful cornations and the first and cute gossips that have been written today. The following day we hope that the sun peeks through the clouds with peace and stable resolutions.
