On the last day of SYMUN 22, the determination of the delegates to succeed in developing a general resolution was remarkable. During the first discussion session, the countries joined together and were able to finalize one common resolution for all those present, which was sponsored by Egypt, Poland, and the Netherlands.

Then, the sponsors proceeded to explain the main solutions thought by the countries in order to finally solve this problem that has been the object of debate for many sessions. The countries agreed on highlighting the cultural importance of the repatriated artwork, securing equal benefits from this process to everyone, and creating international treaties to promote the trust between countries.

About the details of how this repatriation process would unfold, the delegations accorded to return as soon as possible the art pieces to the countries that are financially capable to preserve and store them. However, they pointed out that the speed with which the process should be developed would be in accordance with the conditions of each country. In addition, they concurred that the profits that these artworks would provide to the museums should be given to the countries that had them before the repatriation to prevent an overly harsh economic impact on them. This measure would be applied until both of them could function properly on their own.

Related to the black market, the delegations agreed to condemn and cease this trading by creating and reinforcing new laws. As well, they proposed to develop an active tracking system of the art pieces in order to prevent their lost. Thanks to an amendment presented by the delegation of Syria, a new proposal was incorporated into the treaty to create a database for the countries to trade information about all these activities.

To end the debate, the resolution was put to a vote and was finally approved by the delegations, finally resolving the conflict that has occupied this committee the entire SYMUN 22.
