The morning of the second day of the debate at the security council started with several unmoderated caucuses to finish the resolutions that were mostly done the day before. At the end of these, the resolutions were finally sent to the chairs and defended by three representatives from each bloc. Surprisingly it was not very difficult for the two blocs to reach an agreement since after a few amendments, the resolution of the bloc led by USA, UK and France was approved and thus ended the first topic.
The second topic related to tackling the military expansion of the asian powers was even more controversial. But just when it seemed that the countries were coming together on an idea of their own, the President United Nations made a spontaneous appearance and recognized Taiwan as an independent state, an idea supported by half of the committee but completely rejected by the other half, led by China. After this shocking statement, two clearly differentiated sides began a war of words in which weapons soon appeared. Tomorrow being the last day of debate, we will see if diplomatic relations are enough to avoid encouraging the outbreak of a world war.
